É com muito carinho que eu estou aqui hoje, escrevendo sobre um álbum que eu amo muito! Sinceramente, ainda um dos meus favoritos, talvez esteja até em primeiro lugar no ranking!

(🇺🇸) It is with great joy and affection that I am here today, writing about an album that I love with all my heart! Honestly, this is still one of my favorites! I’m talking about Chris Brown’s second studio album, released on November 6, 2007 – wow, that’s right, a decade – time is really flying y’all!

Estou falando do segundo álbum de estúdio do Chris Brown, lançado no dia 6 de novembro de 2007, portanto, ele completa hoje 10 anos! Wow, isso mesmo, uma década – o tempo está passando mesmo gente! Eu nunca acompanhei de perto, por tanto tempo, um artista.

2007 foi um ano de grandes mudanças para mim, e, na música não poderia ser diferente. Eu sempre gostei de ouvir de tudo, porém, o rock era o estilo predominante em meus fones, rádio, fita cassete, cds gravados… Escutava diversas sonoridades do rock, punk, metal, clássico, gótico… todos os estilos e, eu gostava muito disso.

Mas aí, como eu expliquei para vocês, naquele ano eu me mudei. Passei a ter novas experiências ao morar no Rio de Janeiro. Lá, era tudo diferente, minha vida só ficou mais movimentada quando eu passei a estudar, fiz amigos… e, o hip-hop/rap, começou a ascender nos Estados Unidos, e tudo que bomba lá, faz sucesso aqui, e com o Chris foi exatamente desse jeito!

(🇺🇸) 2007 was a year of great changes for me, and in music, it could not be different. I was living in Rio de Janeiro, with a lot of different things going on for me, I always liked to listen to different genres, but rock was the predominant style on my headphones, radio, cassettes, CDs… I used to  listen to various sounds of rock, punk, metal, classic, gothic… yes, all styles.

Hip-hop/rap, started to get more attention where I lived, and then this country boy from Tappahannock, Virginia, came around and changed everything! I was completely amazed by his talents, his dancing, his smile.

Um grande astro. “Queridinho da América”. Já havia conquistado vários fãs apaixonados em seu país, posições de prestígio nas paradas musicais, já feito apresentações importantes de deixar o queixo caído em premiações, e seu próximo trabalho prometia, era muito aguardado.

(🇺🇸) A superstar. “America’s Sweetheart.” He had already won several passionate fans in his country, prestigious positions in the musical charts, already made important performance to leave the audience “jaw dropped” in awards, and his next album was very wanted and anticipated.

Não é a toa que esse álbum ainda segura o título de maior vendagem na primeira semana para o Chris, foram 295.000 cópias. “Kiss Kiss”, seu segundo single (também indicado ao Grammy), atingiu o topo da parada musical mais importante dos EUA, a Billboard Hot 100. Recebeu opiniões favoráveis dos críticos, um deles chegou a afirmar que ele já “não era mais um substituto do Usher, mas sim, estrela pop inegável” – e ficou na posição 34 dos top 50 álbuns de 2007 segundo a Rolling Stone.

(🇺🇸) No wonder that this album still holds the biggest selling title in the first week for Chris: it sold 295,000 copies. “Kiss Kiss,” his second single (also nominated for one Grammy), reached the top of the US’s most important musical chart – Billboard Hot 100. It received favorable reviews from critics, one of them even said that he was “no longer a substitute (..) but an undeniable pop star “- Exclusive was ranked 34th in the top 50 albums of 2007 according to Rolling Stone.

Possui o certificado 2x platinum, significa que só nos Estados Unidos vendeu mais de dois milhões cópias! Foram 6 singles: “Wall To Wall”, “Kiss Kiss”, “With You” & “Take You Down”. No ano seguinte, ganhou uma re-release, “Exclusive: The Forever Edition” com mais quatro canções, incluindo “Forever” que tornou-se um grande sucesso, #2 na BB Hot 100, e “Superhuman” com Keri Hilson.

(🇺🇸) 2x platinum: it means that in the United States alone, it sold more than two million copies! “Exclusive” had 4 singles: “Wall To Wall”, “Kiss Kiss”, “With You” & “Take You Down”. The following year, he made a re-release, named “Exclusive: The Forever Edition” with four more songs including “Forever” which became a big hit, (#2 on BB Hot 100), and “Superhuman” with Keri Hilson.

Todos os clipes ricos em coreografia, ele também fez questão de co-dirigir todos! Foi mesmo uma “era” linda para ele e para os fãs. Com esse álbum ele se consolidou, e mostrou que chegou para ficar.

Eu já amava canções como “Say Goodbye” e “Wall To Wall”, que não paravam de tocar aqui (essa música se deu super bem no Brasil) – e, quando eu o vi naquele clipe cheio de vida, engraçado e colorido – “Kiss Kiss” me apaixonei de vez! Decidi que acompanharia o trabalho dele como artista e estou aqui até hoje, 10 anos depois!

(🇺🇸) I already loved songs like “Say Goodbye” and “Wall To Wall”, that never stopped playing here (this song was very good in Brazil) – and when I saw it in that clip full of life, funny and colorful ” Kiss Kiss “I fell in love once and for all! I decided that I would accompany his work as an artist and I am here until now, 10 years later!
